The President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez (PSOE), intervened this Friday morning at a press conference and denounced "the violation of the territorial integrity of Spain and Spanish borders" following the entry into the city of Ceuta, in Spanish territory, of around 40,000 people from Morocco.
Sánchez reported that this arrival of thousands of people "breaks a dynamic consistent with the reduction of migrant flows" to Spain, through the autonomous cities, but also the Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, and Andalusia.
The highest Spanish official assured that this action corresponds to the "interested interpretation that the mafias have made of a Supreme Court ruling," which recognized that "hot returns" are not legal, that is, the repatriation of people who enter our space "swimming, by sea," considering that "there is no physical border."
However, Pedro Sánchez, who appeared accompanied by the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, added that this situation is "unprecedented" and that the Maritime Rescue Service and the Navy will be deployed along with the Civil Guard, which is already on the ground, to deploy buoys and create "a containment barrier, in visual terms" so that the return of these people can be applied.
