The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has landed in a Falcon plane this Saturday at 12:59 p.m. in Lanzarote to spend the summer on the island, as he has done since 2020 with his family at the La Mareta residence, which a white van entered after 1:25 p.m., as EFE has verified.
Pedro Sánchez has chosen Lanzarote in recent years to spend his summer, Easter and Christmas (New Year's Eve 2018) holiday periods, and usually stays at the La Mareta residence, in the municipality of Teguise, a complex built in its day for Hussein of Jordan, who gave it to King Juan Carlos I in the late 80s.
In 2015, the Royal House made this residence available to the National Heritage, where heads of State or Government have stayed, such as German Chancellors Helmut Kohl and Gerhard Schröder, the President of the USSR Mikhail Gorbachev, the Czech President Václav Havel or the Spanish Presidents José María Aznar, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero and Pedro Sánchez himself.
