The candidate of Nueva Canarias (NC)-Bloque Canarista for the Presidency of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, Óscar Noda, presented this Saturday in Gran Canaria before some 2,000 people, including leaders, affiliates and supporters from all the islands, his candidacy project as a third way in the Governability for the Island of Los Volcanes.
The also candidate for re-election as mayor of Yaiza with Unidos por Yaiza (UPY) participated this April 29 as a representative of Lanzarote, like the candidate of NC-Frente Amplio Canarista for the Mayor of Arrecife, Armando Santana, in the central act of presentation of candidacies of Nueva Canarias-Bloque Canarista to the city councils, councils and the Parliament of the Canary Islands for the elections of next May 28, which hosted the symbolic Canarian wrestling arena La Gallera de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The president of UPY and candidate to repeat as mayor and premiere in the Presidency of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Óscar Noda, valued the work done in the municipality so that today it is an "pioneering" administration on the island in investment, culture, heritage and sports. "That is what I want to transfer to the Cabildo," he warned, "where we must find solutions to problems as important as those of Social Welfare," he specified, after emphasizing that precisely for that reason he brings a prepared team behind him, with candidates such as number 2 on the list to the Cabildo, "who will undoubtedly be the best Minister of Social Welfare for Lanzarote and La Graciosa, Daisy Villalba".
"Modern Canarismo focused on management"
With special mention and ovation for the local committees moved to Gran Canaria from NC Lanzarote, the Renovating Movement of Tinajo (MRT) and Unidos por Yaiza (UPY), Óscar Noda insisted that his idea is to give that stability and that management model to the Island Council.
"We have not focused on political disputes even though those who speak of a new and moderate nationalism wanted to move my chair, when they do not have it. We from Canarismo are that moderate, modern and growing space compared to the exhausted nationalism of CC. Making alliances and going together, that's how we're going to get it for sure," he emphasized.
"What we want to transfer to the Island Council is stability, certainty, that third way that some still do not understand but that is more than evident. We are the ones who have it clear, we are the ones of that renovating nationalism, and that is what is going to matter and is mattering because there is a lot of nervousness on the Island," he revealed. "When criticisms are made on a personal level and not on the management, it is because there is a lot of nervousness and it is being felt," he asserted.
Noda encouraged his colleagues "to continue united and forward." "If in Yaiza we have been united and we have been able to move a municipality forward, united we will also move forward a better Island and we will be able to have a much better Canary Islands. That also depends on all of you. That is why we govern with you," said the Canarian candidate for the Presidency of the Island Council, the "sensible mayor", of whom the national president, Román Rodríguez, pointed out that "he will decide the future of Lanzarote".
The useful vote and the importance of one
For his part, the candidate of NC-Frente Amplio Canarista (FAC) for the Mayor of Arrecife, Armando Santana, highlighted the illusion of coinciding "4 years later in a place as important for Nueva Canarias" as La Gallera and stressed that "there are new faces but the ideas are the same as always: to defend the Canary Islands".
The councilor in Arrecife with management responsibilities and number one on the electoral list to Arrecife said that the Canarian project represents the useful vote. "We are a force of capacity and balance, if people want it that way. We represent the useful vote and the usefulness of the vote," said Santana. "20 years ago we did not exist and now our decisions mark the future of this country from the city councils, from the island councils and from the government group of the Canary Islands. These are the most important elections, the most decisive," he added.
On Arrecife, the Canarian candidate for the Mayor of the capital of Lanzarote stressed that in these last 4 years "they have had to reformulate the problems with prudence". "In political action we all have part of the reason and perhaps that will be the closest thing to the legislature that is coming and the agreements we have had".
Armando Santana defended the management of the Canarians in Arrecife, in whose municipal government he has been the only councilor of NC. "In one year we have achieved what others have not achieved with 9. With work and dedication and effort we have achieved it," he stressed. For this reason, he conveyed the message of "immortalizing the importance of one". "One of us alone can change everything that is proposed," warned Santana.
"Our trump card is reason in these elections," he explained, after presenting the electoral program of the Canarians in Arrecife, "formulated for more than a year and in which 2,000 people have participated". "Our reason is reflected in a document of commitments with the city of Lanzarote, a sample of the implication, work and effort deployed in this mandate," he said.
