Nona Perera will be the Sumar candidate for the Senate for the elections on July 23.
As La Voz has learned, the former candidate of Unidas Sí Podemos to the Arrecife City Council, without obtaining representation in the last elections, will now be the candidate for the Upper House with the project led by Yolanda Díaz.
After Podemos and Sumar reached an agreement last week to run together in the general elections, the political formation led by Ione Belarra has reserved some starting positions within the coalition, which have been revealed after sealing the agreement.
Nona Perera was the General Director of Cultural Heritage of the Government of the Canary Islands during this legislature. In addition, she is an archaeologist and has a PhD in Prehistory. The candidate has based her career on investigating the indigenous populations of the Canary Islands in the Archipelago and in North Africa.
