The Government Delegate in the Canary Islands, Anselmo Pestana Padrón, and the Superior Police Chief in the Canary Islands, Jesús María Gómez Martín, have presented 94 trainees at the Government Delegation of the province of Las Palmas who will complete their training period in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (59), Telde (20), and Maspalomas (15). The rest of the officers are joining the staff of Puerto del Rosario (12), Arrecife (19), Santa Cruz de Tenerife (39), Puerto de la Cruz (15), La Laguna (10), South of Tenerife (20), and Santa Cruz de La Palma (10).
The police officers, belonging to the XLI promotion of the Basic Scale and XXXIX of the Executive Scale, will join the service of the different police units after completing their theoretical training period, where they acquired knowledge in multiple subjects such as criminal and procedural law, investigation, forensic science, languages, self-defense, police shooting, among others.
The trainees will provide service in the provincial, local, and district police stations where they will be integrated into the different units of the National Police, to perform the functions usually carried out by the Judicial Police, Citizen Security, Complaint Offices, Information, Immigration, and Forensic Science groups.
The incorporation of these 219 trainees represents a significant reinforcement in all police stations on the islands where the National Police is present, contributing to both the development of the Summer Operation and the strengthening of citizen security and the improvement of services provided to the population.
