The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Department of Physical Activity and Sports, has completed the installation of new benches on the football field of the Lanzarote Sports City, as part of the renovation and improvement process of the island's sports facilities.
This action, financed through the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN), has involved an investment of nearly 50,000 euros and is part of the actions promoted by the Island Corporation to optimize the island's benchmark sports infrastructure.
The Vice President of the Cabildo and Councilor for Planning and Project Coordination, María Jesús Tovar, highlighted the importance of "continuing to advance in the modernization of the Sports City."
"We continue to modernize our sports facilities with the aim of offering safer and more comfortable spaces for all users. These actions not only improve the aesthetics and functionality of the infrastructures, but also reflect our commitment to the development of sports in Lanzarote," Tovar asserted.
For his part, the Councilor for Physical Activity and Sports, Juan Monzón, stressed that this improvement is part of "a broader action plan to raise the quality of island sports services." "We continue to take firm steps to make the Lanzarote Sports City a regional benchmark. These new benches are a sample of the constant work by the Cabildo to offer modern facilities in accordance with the needs of our athletes and clubs," he added.
This renovation adds to the work carried out during this term at the Lanzarote Sports City, such as the restoration of the "Heraclio Niz" wrestling arena; the installation of telescopic stands; the improvement of internal facilities; renovation of the lighting; renovation of the paddle tennis courts; or the awarding of an LED screen and a court for playing badminton.
