NC will ask the Cabildo de Lanzarote for the implementation of a catheterization room in the Molina Orosa

It ensures that this measure will mean significant savings and great benefit for the residents of the island. They will also request new bus schedules between Playa Blanca and Arrecife in the next plenary session.

NC will ask the Cabildo of Lanzarote for the implementation of a catheterization room in the Molina Orosa

Nueva Canarias has announced that it will present a motion in the next plenary session of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, scheduled for June 6, urging the Island Corporation to "request the Canary Islands Health Service to quickly implement a catheterization room" in the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital. In addition, it will ask that the indications of Dr. Acosta, head of the Cardiology unit of the General Hospital, be followed, since he maintains that the measure "would mean a better prognosis for this problem" and because "it has been quantified that having a lower consumption of resources demonstrates significant economic savings due to the cost associated with the transfer of patients and their families".

The NC councilor in the Cabildo, Juan Manuel Sosa, highlights in the writing that they make this request "if, as indicated by the head of the Cardiology section of the Lanzarote hospital, and many other specialists, a catheterization room means a lower consumption of health resources, a significant economic saving, a decrease in the average hospital stay, an improvement in the morbidity and mortality of patients with myocardial infarction, with earlier action and a better prognosis in survival and quality of life with cost-effectiveness savings".

Thus, the councilor points out in the motion that Acosta "is very clear on how to achieve great benefits with this measure for the inhabitants of the island of Lanzarote". The formation underlines in its request that "cardiovascular diseases continue to be the leading cause of mortality in Spain" and defends early coronary intervention, since "according to all studies published in the Spanish Journal of Cardiology, survival increases by 5% and reduces mortality by up to 50% in the first 30 days after myocardial infarction".

Modification of the Playa Blanca-Arrecife bus schedules

Nueva Canarias has also announced that it will transfer a motion, at the request of the San Borondón political group, to the plenary session of the Cabildo requesting improvements in public transport in Playa Blanca, due to "the serious deficiencies detected" in it. The express request is for a modification and restoration of the schedules, so that "from 10 p.m. there is a transport line every two or three hours" from Playa Blanca to Arrecife.

The formation highlights that there has been an increase in the demand and use of the lines that connect both locations in recent months. However, it points out for its request that many workers or people who reside in other municipalities and visit the leisure venues or events in Playa Blanca - as was recently the case with the celebration of "Yaiza se mueve" - do not have the possibility of being able to go back by bus, because the last one leaves at 10 p.m.

That is why NC highlights that the request is based on the "serious problem" that many users suffer from having to wait until dawn to be able to move out of Playa Blanca.
