Nueva Canarias-Bloque Canarista (NC-bc) in Lanzarote and La Graciosa has decided to publicly distance itself from the "so-called and alleged table of nationalist parties," considering that it "is led by leaders marked by political opportunism and by the contempt they have historically shown for Lanzarote and its population."
Since the Canarian formation, they categorically reject a supposed "unity" that they consider fictitious and lacking political credibility. In this regard, the Insular Organization Secretary of NC-bc in Lanzarote, Servando Pérez Dorta, was forceful in stating that "we are not going to participate in a fictitious unity that is nothing more than laughing at the jokes of the white label of Coalición Canaria in Gran Canaria, which is doing the dirty work for the general elections."
Pérez Dorta also recalled that "some of the leaders who today promote these political spaces, when they were part of Nueva Canarias, openly expressed their discontent with the political, organizational, and economic investment that the organization made in islands like Lanzarote." "They even stated that it was a waste of time and that resources should remain exclusively in Gran Canaria, a profoundly unsupportive vision contrary to the project of equality between islands that Nueva Canarias has always defended," he pointed out
The Insular Organization Secretary stressed that "NC-bc cannot endorse spaces built on opportunism and incoherence, much less legitimize strategies that have nothing to do with the real defense of Lanzarote or the non-capital islands as a whole." "It is astonishing to see how supposed 'leaders' of future islandist parties unashamedly align themselves with individuals who have never shown the slightest commitment or support towards islands like Lanzarote or Fuerteventura," he added.
From NC-bc in Lanzarote, they express their "surprise at the attitude of those who, under a supposedly insularist discourse, end up subordinating themselves to external interests that have nothing to do with the defense of the island and its people, simply for pure political survival." The organization recalls that its roadmap "is clearly marked by the resolutions of its VI National Congress, which unequivocally opts for the union of Canarian-obedient progressivism, with the aim of defending the social majority of Lanzarote and the Canary Islands, and not political minorities or particular interests."
“Nueva Canarias will continue working with coherence, loyalty to the Canary Islands, and commitment to the people, without shortcuts or pacts that betray the principles of progressive nationalism,” concluded Pérez Dorta.
