The National Police deploys a security device, on the occasion of the San Ginés 2025 Patron Saint Festivities, which will take place in the capital of the region, between August 14 and 25.
The police operation that will have more than 50 agents from the different police units, has as its main objective to guarantee the peaceful and orderly celebration of the events scheduled during the festivity, and to allow the free exercise of the rights and freedoms of citizens, carrying out for this purpose a preventive work and operational response to any incident that may occur within the framework of citizen security.
The main areas in which security services will be reinforced and where special attention will be paid due to the celebration of mass events are: Playa del Reducto, Parque José Ramírez Cerdá, Avenida de Vargas and Plaza del Almacén.
The operational units that participate in the security device are:
- Citizen Security Units
a) Prevention and Reaction Unit (UPR) and Operational Response Group (GOR)
With the missions of:
- Rapid intervention in the event of disturbances of public order.
- Support in dynamic controls and preventive searches.
- Dissuasive presence in hot spots.
b) Citizen Attention Group (GAC)
With the missions of:
- Preventive control of accesses and surveillance in areas of high attendance.
- Reinforcement of patrols during peak hours.
- Collaboration in closing devices after mass events.
- Support to other bodies in joint actions.
- Judicial Police
With the missions of:
- Investigation and collection of evidence in case of crimes committed during the festivities.
- Presence of plainclothes officers in those events with a greater influx of public in which there is a greater probability of commission of crimes of theft, drug trafficking, or assaults.
- Citizen Service Office (ODAC)
Reinforcement of the service during the time slots of greatest citizen demand.
