The national president, Román Rodríguez, endorsed the "trajectory, commitment and closeness" of the head of the list to the capital City Council, who was supported this Saturday at the presentation of the electoral list for the May elections. Nueva Canarias (NC) Lanzarote, has proclaimed this Saturday in a massive event in Arrecife Armando Santana as the official candidate for the Mayoralty of the City Council of the capital of the Island.

The Nueva Canarias Committee in Arrecife has organized a dynamic event from 6:30 p.m. at the Civic Center, which has completely filled its capacity, and in which they have made official the electoral list of the men and women who will accompany Armando Santana in his candidacy for Arrecife for the upcoming elections on May 28 and which will be ratified this week by the electoral committee.

The councilor and NC candidate for Mayor of Arrecife, Armando Santana, was in charge of closing the event with an "emotional and exciting" speech, in which he pledged to continue supporting the most disadvantaged, all citizens, merchants, artisans and hoteliers, to plan the future of this city, to solve the problem of housing, mobility, abandoned buildings and the heritage of Arrecife, and in which he pledged, among other things, to triple the budgets for culture."

Regarding the electoral list presented by NC in Arrecife, it is made up of a group of people who "have been working in the organization for more than four years, committed to the citizens, the names will be made public this week, after being ratified by the electoral committee." The event, at the beginning of which a minute was kept to hear the anthem of the Canary Islands, was energized by the artist Roque Delbueno. The proclamation ceremony was also attended by the national president of NC, Román Rodríguez, the national spokesperson, Luis Campos, and the different candidates from Lanzarote and La Graciosa, as well as different public and organic positions of the formation.

The also vice president of the Government of the Canary Islands endorsed Santana's trajectory in this mandate in Arrecife, where he said "he has worked with tenacity, alone, with commitment, effort and great closeness." "Armando is a born worker and also very tenacious," said Román Rodríguez in reference to the more than 5 million euros that the councilor and NC candidate in Arrecife managed to get to invest in the city, and that have been allocated to a green corridor from the IES Zonzamas to Puerto Naos and to the beautification of the El Almacén square, with thousands of euros for the open commercial area in Arrecife.

Román Rodríguez requested support so that "Nueva Canarias has not one councilor, but its own group in the Arrecife City Council so that this city recovers its authentic prominence and is the true economic and social engine of the island of Lanzarote."

The most repeated in Santana's speech was "commitment, his commitment to Arrecife, the commitment to satisfy all the needs that the capital of the island has in terms of education, security, mobility, urban environment, etc."...

Spanish flag

One of the most emotional moments in his speech was remembering a conversation he had this week with a family from Malaga who wanted to show their support with a Spanish flag, asking the candidate if they could bring it, Santana replied "of course, that's what it's about, Nueva Canarias is a state party, which respects the constitution, which defends our archipelago and which aspires to have quotas of self-government won at the polls, with the support of the Canarians and where we also take into account the rest of the Spanish territory, of course, the flag of Spain can be there," Santana concluded.
