The Contracting Area of the Arrecife City Council, led by the Deputy Mayor, Echedey Eugenio, has completed the awarding of four strategic contracts that will optimize public services, reinforce road safety, and modernize the city's infrastructure, with a total investment amounting to 2,807,247.62 euros.
These are four key files such as the awarding of the expansion of the San Román cemetery, the awarding of the lots of walls and roofs for the maintenance of schools, and the approval of the files for the road signage contract and for the supply of three vehicles for municipal services.
"We are fulfilling a very clear roadmap: investing where it is most needed and accelerating contracting so that improvements reach citizens as soon as possible," emphasizes Echedey Eugenio, who highlighted that "we are transforming municipal resources into tangible investments that translate into better services, more modern infrastructure, and more security for all."
One of the most relevant actions is the awarding of the expansion work of the San Román Cemetery, commissioned to Hormiconsa Canarias, SA, with a budget of 1,908,847.62 euros (IGIC included) and an execution period of eight months. The action includes a five-year guarantee that ensures the quality and durability of the works. "This is a historical demand of many citizens of Arrecife and with this work we respond by creating a dignified and sufficient space for families," emphasizes the councilman.
In the educational field, the maintenance of schools has been awarded in two complementary lots to the UTE Capross 2004–Activa Lanzarote. Lot 4 (Walls) involves a maximum authorized expenditure of 400,000.00 euros (IGIC included). For its part, Lot 5 (Roofs) amounts to a total of 200,000.00 euros (IGIC included). Together, the investment in these lots is 600,000.00 euros. "We want safer, healthier, and more cared-for schools; that's why we attack both the walls and the roofs, with a work plan that prioritizes rapid and effective attention," adds Eugenio.
Mobility and road safety are also reinforced with the contract for conservation, maintenance, supply, and installation of road signage in Arrecife, with a budget of 170,000 euros (IGIC included) and a duration of one year, extendable. "Ensuring that the streets are correctly signposted is key to road safety and to achieving orderly and efficient mobility in the city," adds the councilor.
Finally, the modernization of the municipal fleet is promoted through the contract for the supply of three vehicles for the Public Works area, with a value of 128,400 euros (IGIC included). "Renewing the fleet is essential for municipal teams to respond better and faster," highlights Eugenio.
With these four awards, the Arrecife City Council "reinforces its commitment to responsible management that is close to the real needs of the municipality. These are contracts that translate into works, real maintenance, and more resources. They are not announcements: they are firm decisions with budgetary coverage," concludes the Deputy Mayor.
