The general secretary of ASG (Agrupación Socialista Gomera) and deputy in the Parliament of the Canary Islands, Casimiro Curbelo, and the mayor of Yaiza and councilor of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Óscar Noda, held a meeting this Wednesday in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, in order to "analyze joint actions in view of the regional budgets of 2024, linked to Yaiza and the entire Archipelago, such as housing and water, among other issues."

Curbelo and Noda, who share concerns about municipal cooperation, given their political trajectories in the local and island sphere, have agreed to "set priorities with operational and practical actions that allow the execution of projects that must be endowed with a financial sheet." In this sense, the mayor of Yaiza expressed confidence that in the contribution of ASG before the processing of the regional budgets “issues of interest to the municipality will be taken into account.”

Óscar Noda described the meeting as “very productive and decisive since steps have been taken towards the real solution of municipal concerns.” The also president of UPY (United for Yaiza) thanked Casimiro Curbelo for his attention, interest and willingness to help guide the responses to problems that are common in the Canary Islands. “As a son of Yaiza and Lanzarote, I feel that it is my duty to seek all possible alternatives to defend this land with more facts than words and without taking into account political colors,” concluded the mayor of Yaiza and councilor of the Cabildo, Óscar Noda.

For his part, Curbelo specified that the meeting has served to gather demands from the municipal sphere that may fit in the processing of amendments to the regional accounts, “with the purpose of strengthening the investment capacity,” he said.
