Collaboration agreement between Más Canarias and Verdes Equo Canarias

Verdes Equo Canarias and Más Canarias have closed a political cooperation agreement in the islands in which they will try to create an environmental and transformation space “open and egalitarian” for other organizations that want to join the project.

The general coordinator of Más Canarias, Javier Navarro Lasso, highlighted the failure of the mass tourism model in the Canary Islands, declaring that “when a community that is an international leader in tourism is also a leader in unemployment and despair, the time comes to make a change of course,” declared Navarro Lasso.

The political group insists on the creation of a true archipelago project. They demand the need to “implement formulas that get the Canary Islands out of precariousness.” For her part, the co-spokesperson of Verdes Equo Canarias and councilor of Arrecife, Esther Gómez Brodsky, has stated that the agreement is for the long term, “we want to build a long-term project and far from the rush,” stressed Esther.

The councilor of Arrecife also wanted to highlight the “lack of innovative ideas and a green look to open horizons, in a new environmental space that aspires to enter the institutions.”

Both parties have indicated that this is not an electoral agreement, but a joint work structure and that the independence of the two parties will be respected in the face of contacts with other political and social forces.

The two political blocs consider it essential to ensure that this project “whatever the political scenario that opens up”, therefore, they have assured that they will work from now on to put this initiative into operation.
