Kevin Cortés, councilor for Infractions and Sanctions and Patrimonial Responsibility of the Arrecife City Council, intervened this Thursday on the program Buenos días, Lanzarote of Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero where he addressed the decision of a court in the capital to keep the case for the City Council's action in the dismantling of Hormiconsa's crusher in Maneje archived. In the interview, the councilor assured that he had suffered alleged lack of respect and verbal aggression in his office by one of the complainants, Andrés Medina.

The councilor began by saying that he has never been investigated by the justice system in this case and assured that this matter "has been exhausting". "It's curious how this gentleman has continued and continued to hammer on the issue," he pointed out.

"I don't understand how this gentleman, who was a councilor in the municipal corporation, didn't push so hard at the time, and it's now in this term when I took a couple of officers and met with Miguel Morales, the owner of the crusher, with a couple of officers and we went to seal off the activity he was carrying out," he explained. He also stated that they reached an agreement where the Arrecife City Council gave him a deadline to vacate the crusher.

However, he emphasized that "the most curious thing is that despite the crusher being dismantled, this gentleman kept fanning the flames and I honestly don't know what he intends. "It's a horrible persecution," he highlighted.

Furthermore, he recounted that during a rainy season in Argana Alta, the complainant staged a scene in which he insulted the councilor and the mayor. "I will never forget the spectacle, with the media present, shouting, insulting the mayor, getting at me, and us attending to the media about the rain that had caused floods there in Argana," he indicated. "Another day, while I was at the neighborhood festival in Titerroy, he disrespected me in front of many people, to the point that I even told him: Andrés, please, maintain your manners, there's no need for you to get like this," he continued.

Kevin Cortés has also revealed that "the other day in my office he tried to assault me". "I've been too nice and I think sometimes there are people in life to put spokes in the wheels, but I don't like problems because I came here to work," he assured. Regarding this incident, he pointed out that he had to call the police "because he became violent in my office and shouting, and when the police arrived, this man had already left the office, but they called him to warn him that he cannot go through life like this".
