Madelaine Cabrera, new municipal secretary of the Canarian Coalition in Tías

With her election as local secretary, she "steps up" by assuming an organizational responsibility in the party for the first time.

Asamblea Local de CC en Tías

Madelaine Cabrera has been elected as the new municipal secretary of Coalición Canaria in Tías. In the Local Assembly held this past Tuesday to renew its leadership, her candidacy, the only one presented, assumes the leadership of a new stage in the nationalist organization. Cabrera pointed out that this period will be marked by "enthusiasm, closeness, and teamwork."

In her speech, Cabrera expressed her gratitude for the trust placed in her and underscored her commitment to working "closely, listening and building together for the good of our municipality." She also highlighted the importance of unity and collaboration: "I will not walk alone: we will do it as a team, with strength and new ideas. I am convinced that, if we work together, we will continue the path marked out in recent years, earning the trust of the people and giving Tías the voice it deserves in the Canary Islands."

New Local Address

The new local leadership is composed of 20 people and 15 local secretariats dedicated to areas of municipal interest. Among them, the Secretariat of Local Political Coordination stands out, which will be assumed by the current CC spokesperson in the Tías City Council, Amado Vizcaíno. The structure is completed with Alejandro Rodríguez as local deputy secretary, Náyade Flor Estévez as secretary of Organization, and Luis García Rosales as deputy secretary of Organization.

The outgoing local secretary, Alejandro Rodríguez, the municipal spokesperson, Amado Vizcaíno, and the general secretary of Coalición Canaria in Lanzarote and La Graciosa and senator for the Canary Islands, Pedro San Ginés, also spoke during the event, dedicating words of support to the new team. The island secretary of Organization and mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, was also present.

Rodríguez, who presented the management report for the last four years, reviewed the path taken by the organization during this time and highlighted the progress made: "We have achieved something historic: breaking the barrier of one councilor and reaching two representatives in the City Council. And I am convinced that this is only the beginning." He stressed that CC's growth in Tías has been due to "the daily, constant, and committed work of the committee," and acknowledged the role of Amado Vizcaíno "for his firmness and courage in defending our ideas in each plenary session."

After a period of rupture

For his part, Amado Vizcaíno reviewed the trajectory of the Canarian Coalition in Tías from 2015 to the present. He recalled that the Committee emerged from a management team after a period of rupture and highlighted that today the party celebrates "the formation of a third strong, cohesive local committee with a future project."

Vizcaíno highlighted the group's evolution and the commitment of its members: "In these years we have gone from rebuilding ourselves to consolidating ourselves as a firm voice in the municipality. This new team is a sign that Coalición Canaria in Tías is alive, eager, and with a vision for the future."

He also had words of congratulations for the president of the Cabildo, Oswaldo Betancort, and his team "for leading the planning of Lanzarote," and also offered words of support "in the face of the campaigns that will surely come his way from certain political adversaries."

For his part, the general secretary of the Canarian Coalition in Lanzarote, Pedro San Ginés, congratulated Madelaine Cabrera and her team for the step forward that the new local structure represents, underlining the importance of renewal and active participation: “This Committee is a reflection of a project that is being updated, that grows from the ground up, and that is very clear that the future of Tías involves listening, proposing, and building with the people.”

Two Women at the Helm

San Ginés described it as "an unprecedented event to highlight that for the first time a local committee has two women in its leadership" and stressed the need to emphasize, in a municipality where other state-level parties have a greater breeding ground among people who were not born here but have chosen to live in Tías, that the Coalición Canaria project is also the best project for them to improve their lives."

The event was also attended by the Deputy Secretary of Organization of CC Lanzarote and La Graciosa, Abigail González; the Deputy Secretary of Territorial Action, Municipal and Organizational Coordination in the island leadership of CC Lanzarote and La Graciosa, Aroa Revelo; and the secretaries of the Local Committees, among other public representatives and organic positions of the nationalist party.

With the election of Madelaine Cabrera and the new local leadership, CC Tías opens a stage that seeks to "consolidate the party's growth in the municipality, strengthen its structure, and prepare the way for the next electoral challenges" with a message of "hope, unity, and commitment." Held at the Montaña Tropical Shopping Center in Puerto del Carmen, the assembly also served to "strengthen the connection" of CC Tías with the residents of the municipality.

A New Stage

The nationalist party has indicated that Madelaine Cabrera Vizcaíno represents "the new impetus" of Coalición Canaria in Tías. "A hardworking, approachable woman with an enormous capacity for dedication. A mother of three, she combines her family and work life with her studies at the UNED, where she continues her education every afternoon and evening, while still contributing ideas and energy to the local committee."

Since joining Coalición Canaria in 2023, as a member of the candidacy headed by Amado Vizcaíno for the Tías City Council, Cabrera has stood out for her involvement and her constructive vision of political work. Her active participation, her constant proposals, and her ability to listen to the reality of the residents have made her one of the most dynamic voices within the group.

Now, with her election as local secretary, she is "stepping up" by assuming an organizational responsibility in the party for the first time. She does so - as she herself emphasizes - "with enthusiasm, closeness, and the firm purpose of working as a team for the good of the municipality." Her leadership reflects a new stage in Coalición Canaria Tías, marked by renewal, participation, and commitment to the future of the municipality.
