The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Security and Emergency Consortium, presented this Monday, in the parking lot of the Castle of San José, the new self-propelled ladder vehicle that joins the mobile park to improve the response to emergencies on the island.
The presentation ceremony was attended by the island's president, Oswaldo Betancort; the vice president and Minister of Finance, María Jesús Tovar and the president of the Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote, Kiko Aparicio.
The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, highlighted that "with this new vehicle, the security of citizens is reinforced, guaranteeing a rapid and effective response in situations that require access at height, especially in urban areas with limited spaces." "This incorporation is a further step to protect the community with modern and adapted means," he concluded.
For his part, the president of the Security and Emergency Consortium, Kiko Aparicio, explained that "this self-propelled ladder has been designed thinking about the reality of Lanzarote." "Its compact structure and ability to reach difficult places make it a fundamental tool for the island's firefighters, both in extinguishing and rescue tasks," he added.
This truck has a nominal working height of 32 meters, five articulated sections and X-shaped stabilizers to guarantee safety and stability during interventions. It is designed to maneuver easily in narrow streets.
In addition, the manufacture of the vehicle complies with the latest environmental regulations. It was awarded for an amount of 815,340 euros and has been delivered in a period of less than the 14 months foreseen.
