The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Department of Transportation and Mobility, has launched the recharge of bus passes and wallet cards in the Intercitybus Lanzarote application. This measure will favor the speed of passenger boarding, thus ensuring the fluidity of the service on the different lines. The project is financed by its own funds and has an investment of 281,669 euros.
The Councilor of the Area, Domingo Cejas, details that this update of the services "will prevent the displacement of users to the offices and the long lines when getting on the bus to make recharges." "Our goal," adds Cejas, "is to contribute to a more efficient and sustainable transport system, which provides greater facilities to passengers."
Thanks to the implementation of this measure, the user will have their transaction history within the application itself, facilitating the control of their expenses and avoiding the loss of money. In short, this initiative gives the passenger greater comfort, control and flexibility in the management of their trips around the Island.
This new action is part of the project of supply, parameterization and integration of the current Ticketing System, and adds to the implementation of the payment system by bank card in the vehicles.
The free mobile application, available in Spanish, English and German, offers users detailed information, in real time, of intercity buses, in addition to locating stops and checking the card balance. The application is available on Google Play for Android systems and in the Apple Store for iOS systems.
