The Lanzarote delegation at Fitur 2022 has held, in recent days, nearly 50 meetings with the aim of facing "the Post-Covid tourism recovery on the Island". The president and Tourism Councilor of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, as well as the CEOs of the Centers for Art, Culture and Tourism of Lanzarote, Benjamín Perdomo, and of the Society for Foreign Promotion of Lanzarote, Héctor Fernández, have traveled to Madrid.
The Corporation has met with tour operators, airlines, tourism offices, technology organizations, travel agencies or sustainability organizations, among other representatives worldwide.
“One of the most remarkable data after the meetings has been the increase of more than 30% of the seats programmed by Iberia Express on trips between the Island and Madrid, which will mean a better and more accessible national connectivity on a flight that usually has a high demand, and international in the possible connections that can be established with this route”, the president advanced.
Dolores Corujo highlighted that, thanks to these meetings, “we will receive valuable information to face the tourist season and the post-Covid tourist recovery.”
“Each of these meetings includes fundamental ideas such as the recognition of Lanzarote as a quality destination for more than 20 years or the participation in the Fitur Next forum, where a round table will be held with talks about sustainability in the sector, highlighting the sustainable positioning that the Island wants to show internationally”, the president advanced.
