The Lanzarote Safety and Emergency Consortium continues to focus on the ongoing training and specialization of its personnel. On this occasion, several members of the Fire Department have participated in APRAT Rescue 2025, a national meeting held in Alcañiz (Teruel) and organized by the Professional Association of Traffic Accident Rescue (APRAT), which brings together emergency teams from all over the country to share knowledge and improve intervention techniques in accidents.

During the meeting, the firefighters from Lanzarote took part in practical workshops, rescue simulations, and specialized presentations focused on victim extrication, handling of new hydraulic tools, initial healthcare, and intervention procedures with electric and hybrid vehicles. These activities, carried out in controlled environments, allowed for the implementation of safety and coordination protocols in highly complex interventions.

The president of the Security and Emergency Consortium, Francisco J. Aparicio, highlighted "the commitment of the Lanzarote firefighters to continue training and adapting to the new challenges posed by the reality of emergencies." "New technologies and materials are incorporated into the vehicles every year, which forces rescue teams to update their knowledge to guarantee a rapid, effective, and safe response in any accident," he added.

The Consortium emphasizes that this training is part of the annual training and continuous improvement plan of the service, with the aim of strengthening the professional skills of the staff and offering citizens a modern, prepared and constantly evolving emergency service. In addition, it should be noted that the Lanzarote team will once again participate in the National Meeting on Traffic Accidents and Trauma that will be held in 2026.

"Participating in national forums like APRAT Rescue allows us to measure ourselves against other teams, learn from their experience, and continue to consolidate the professionalism of our firefighters," Aparicio added. "Lanzarote can be proud of the level and dedication of those who ensure their safety every day," he concluded.
