The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz Saavedra, has traveled these days to the celebration of the 'World Travel Market', in London. One of the most important tourism fairs worldwide, in which he has accompanied the Canarian and Lanzarote delegation in the joint tourism strategy.
The mayor participated this Monday in the inauguration of the Islas Canarias stand together with the president of the Autonomous Community, Fernando Clavijo, the president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, Olivia Duque and other public representatives; and in the tour of the adjacent stands together with the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Héctor Gómez.
In addition to the contacts and meetings that are held these days at an international fair of these characteristics, José Juan Cruz, will participate this Tuesday in the joint presentation promoted by the 'Association of Tourist Municipalities of the Canary Islands' (Amtc).
Cruz has highlighted "the enormous relevance" of British tourists for Puerto del Carmen and for the municipality of Tías, "so I thank, on behalf of our community, that they choose us as one of their preferred destinations to enjoy their vacations.”
He emphasized the confirmation of Puerto del Carmen as a consolidated tourist destination "which, in addition, develops a global strategy of sustainable destination and intelligent destination, adapting its economic activity to new technologies."
