A total of 59 civil guards students and trainees join the Las Palmas Civil Guard Command starting today, where they will begin the second phase of their training period. Of the total incorporations, 22 students will carry out their internships in units on the island of Lanzarote, 35 on the island of Fuerteventura, and 2 on the island of Gran Canaria, reinforcing the territorial units of Citizen Security of the Command.
This incorporation aims to increase the presence of personnel during the summer period, attending to the operational needs of the different units. Over 40 weeks, the civil guard students will complete their practical training, acquiring the necessary experience to obtain the status of professional civil guards.
Nationally, a total of 3,123 civil guards students are joining units throughout Spain this year, which represents an increase of 390 personnel compared to the previous year, when 2,733 joined. Likewise, 874 students will complement their training by serving in different specialties of the Civil Guard, including Traffic, Reserve and Security Group (ARS), Fiscal and Borders, or Maritime Service.
All these students come from the 131st promotion of the Baeza Guardia Academy and the 172nd promotion of the Valdemoro Young Guards College.
