Know the program of the Masdache 2026 festivals

The programming of the festivities in honor of Our Lady of Magdalena will begin on July 9 with the reading of the proclamation by Benedicta Caraballo

Next week, the Masdache festivities in honor of Saint Mary Magdalene will begin with more than thirty events and two weekends of dances, festivals, and parties that will liven up the town on Fridays and Saturdays, July 10, 11, 17, and 18. The program will kick off on July 9 with the reading of the opening speech by Benedicta Caraballo Medina.

Always starting at 10:30 PM, the orchestra Banda Nueva and the group Vocal Force will entertain the night of Friday, July 10, while on Saturday the 11th, the orchestras Grupo Bomba, Mambo con Fuego, and La Resistencia will perform. The following weekend, the orchestras Rikabanda, Mambo Latino, and Kódigo 4 will take the stage on Friday the 17th, and Los Labradores, Malpeis, Alegranza, and Sondemar on Saturday the 18th.

The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, and the councilwoman for Festivities, Miriam Hernández, express their gratitude for the work done by the Masdache Festivities Committee and the Cuatro Esquinas Sociocultural Center in preparing this celebration, along with the Town Hall staff, entities, and participating volunteers.

From July 9 to 22, there will be workshops, a family party, envite, chinchón, and mixed ronda championships, a seniors' dance, children's circus-theater, a dessert contest, a fashion show, playback, a gymkhana, and a self-defense class, among other activities.

On Saturday, July 18, at 6:00 PM, the popular pilgrimage will take place with an offering to the Virgen de la Magdalena, and on Sunday the 19th, the children's race and the Harvest Festival with the performance of Los Salvapantallas and a hat contest will be held.

The last two days of the festivities will feature a folk encounter with the groups Güerma and Timbayba on Tuesday the 21st at 8:30 PM, and to conclude, on Wednesday the 22nd at 6:00 PM, the religious service and procession in honor of Saint Mary Magdalene will be held with the Unión Musical de Lanzarote band, followed by a performance by the group Gaida. The day will conclude after 8:00 PM with the grand gala featuring a performance by Acatife and the Canarian comedian Cristito.
