The Global South Forum has sold out all available tickets for the special edition that will feature Josep Borrell on July 17 at the Castillo de San José in Arrecife, confirming the enormous interest generated by one of the most relevant events on the political reflection and analysis calendar in the Canary Islands.
Given the full capacity of the venue, the organization informs that, as always, all interested individuals will be able to follow the event live and for free through the streaming that lavozdelanzarote.com will offer.
Under the title "Europe at the Crossroads," Josep Borrell will analyze the current international geopolitical scenario, marked by tensions in the Middle East, the war in Ukraine, the new balance between major powers, and the challenges facing Europe in terms of security, defense, economic competitiveness, energy, and international relations.
The former High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and former Vice-President of the European Commission is one of the European political figures with the greatest international projection. Throughout his career, he has been President of the European Parliament, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain, and, between 2019 and 2024, responsible for the European Union's foreign policy during one of the most complex periods in the continent's recent history.
The holding of this meeting consolidates the prestige achieved by the Global South Forum, which in its latest editions has featured the participation of former Presidents of the Government of Spain Felipe González and Mariano Rajoy, becoming one of the main spaces for thought, dialogue, and geopolitical analysis in the archipelago.
The Global South Forum is co-organized by Lanzarote Media and sponsored by the Centers for Art, Culture, and Tourism of Lanzarote, SPEL-Turismo Lanzarote, and the Government of the Canary Islands, Islas Iguales.
