Priemro Teguise criticizes that "the government group punishes Costa Teguise, eliminating the office of the Local Police." “It is quite serious that Teguise has a deficient number of officials (approximately 37 at present) in which, it must be taken into account, includes personnel assigned to office work. This means that we barely have personnel to cover the 24 locations in our municipality. But also, leaving the Local Police without infrastructure in a town of more than 9,000 inhabitants and which is also one of the most important tourist destinations in the Canary Islands, is a terrible decision.”

The elected councilor emphasizes that “the sad thing is that they have turned it into an almost anecdotal event, because the Costa Teguise Local Police office had been closed and abandoned to its fate for more than two years, without any type of information for our neighbors and with an ironic suggestion box as the only method of contact.”

The Primero Teguise team receives complaints and experiences from Costa Teguise residents who see how their requests fall on deaf ears: “When we want to report an irregularity or resolve an incident, we either have to go to the Villa, or they directly tell us to go to the Civil Guard.”

For Álvarez, this dependence on the Civil Guard is becoming a bad habit of the Teguise City Council. “It seems that a headquarters in Costa Teguise is not necessary, since
for all types of issues it is referred to the Civil Guard. Is this going to continue to be the trend regarding the safety of our neighbors now with the new councilor Ginés González in the government? Why hasn't he spoken about this fact and asked his mayoress and friend, Olivia Duque, to keep the Local Police office open?”, asks the Primero
Teguise councilor.

“Absolutely everyone is aware of the coverage problems that may exist, when on the same night there may be several incidents in different locations.”
Primero Teguise, through its councilor, Jonás Álvarez, demands that the current councilor Ginés González “fulfill the functions of a councilor, work to ensure the safety of the residents of Costa Teguise, stop publishing opinions in the local media acting as the mayoress's squire and focus and demand that his government partners open the Costa Teguise Local Police office.” “We will have to remind the Vox councilor that, with Coalición Canaria governing, Teguise has become a municipality with many deficiencies in the Local Police, as the agents themselves have denounced, and being one of the staffs with few personnel.”
