The Haría City Council will update the operational procedure for coordination and collaboration with the Las Palmas Civil Guard Command, in order to guarantee compliance with judicial measures for protection of victims of gender violence.

The mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba, highlights the importance of this step. “We reaffirm our absolute commitment to the protection of women and to the fight against gender violence,” he adds. “With this operational protocol we reinforce institutional coordination to guarantee the safety of victims and provide an effective response from proximity,” adds the mayor.

For her part, the Councilor for Equality, Nuria Acuña, highlights that “the updating of this protocol will allow us to act more quickly and efficiently.” She adds that “the protection of victims requires unity, coordination and a constant effort from all the administrations involved.”

The measure responds to the commitment acquired in the last local security board, where it was agreed to reinforce joint actions between the Haría Local Police and the Civil Guard, within the framework of Organic Law 1/2004 on Comprehensive Protection Measures against Gender Violence, and Organic Law 2/1986, on Security Forces and Bodies.
