The Haría City Council, through the Department of Equality, yesterday, Wednesday, September 10, restored the LGTBI+ bench located in Punta Mujeres, after it was the object of graffiti with symbols of hatred that threaten coexistence, respect and democratic values.

The bench, inaugurated on June 17 within the framework of the Pride celebrations, has become a symbol of visibility and support for diversity.

The mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba, pointed out that "the municipality will continue to defend respect and disparity against any attempt to sow hatred." "Haría is an open and plural place, and these types of acts do not represent our society," he asserted.

For her part, the Councilor for Equality, Nuria Acuña, stressed that "the municipal corporation reaffirms its commitment to LGTBI+ rights and to all those actions that promote a society free of discrimination."

The Haría City Council will continue working to ensure that spaces like this are benchmarks of respect and diversity in the municipality.
