The Haría City Council will carry out the installation of a modern traffic video surveillance system on the main urban roads. This initiative will reinforce the safety of people and speed up the growing flow of vehicles. The action is part of the comprehensive plan to improve the mobility and well-being of residents.
The mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba, explains that this action is due to the significant increase in traffic volume, “since it is necessary to implement new measures in terms of road management.” “We want to guarantee the safety of citizens and prevent incidents,” he clarifies.
For her part, the first deputy mayor of Haría, Evelía García, assures that this measure promotes the correct circulation of the municipality's roads and will maintain the tranquility of the northern area of the Island. “Our priority is the well-being of citizens,” she says.
The placement of smart cameras in strategic points will optimize traffic management, detect infractions in real time and facilitate the rapid intervention of emergency services in the event of accidents or risk situations.
In addition, this system will offer data valuable for decision-making in the medium and long term. Through the analysis of the information collected, the City Council will be able to implement more effective measures that contribute to reducing vehicle congestion, reducing accidents, protecting pedestrians, cyclists and drivers, as well as promoting a more orderly and fluid flow.
The protection of privacy and respect for the individual rights of citizens is a fundamental priority in this project. For this reason, all video surveillance actions comply with current regulations on data protection, using the images captured exclusively for the indicated purposes, under strict control and supervision of the competent authorities.
