The Haría City Council, with Chaxiraxi Niz, the first deputy mayor and the councilor of the northern consistory, Ambrosio Viñoly, traveled to Tenerife this Tuesday to hold a meeting with the Minister of Public Works of the Government of the Canary Islands, Pablo Rodríguez, and the Minister of Education, Hipólito Suárez.
Firstly, one of the topics discussed in terms of Education is the assessment of the implementation in the CEIP San Juan of the 0-2 year classrooms, thus configuring a complete children's cycle in its entirety. Suárez "has promised to study this proposal and carry out a feasibility study for said request," says Chaxiraxi Niz.
In addition, the town hall emphasizes that another aspect to "improve" is the situation of the Port of Órzola. At the moment, the "reality that is experienced in the northern facilities does not meet the needs of the residents or the daily activity that takes place in Órzola." The residents, fishermen, restaurateurs and businesses are asking for "solutions", and the different administrations are obliged to "understand each other and facilitate" definitive solutions. To this end, the Haría City Council will demand an agenda that marks the line and the times to undertake projects and actions to correspond with a town that "suffers daily" the consequences of port activity. To this must be added "the road traffic, the need for a large parking lot and the environmental pollution that is generated and that marks the critical points at this time," details the Consistory.
The solution for Órzola and the Port involves "urban planning and zoning" of the service area for the Port; this would "facilitate" access from the LZ-1 road, since it is currently done through a municipal street. "A doubling of the road behind the town would reduce the noise and stress generated by road traffic, improving the health of the residents while increasing road safety," they point out.
Associated with this measure must come the "solution to the parking problem", a large parking area that "facilitates" the service to both port users and the town. "Órzola must return to recover and be that center of commercial and economic activity that it once was, and not only serve as a transit area, a bridge between the islands of Lanzarote and La Graciosa," they detail.
Another of the aspects that the Harian municipal representatives put on the table and explained to the ministers of the Government of the Canary Islands are those referring to the "adaptation to tourism in especially delicate enclaves" such as La Garita. Compromiso X Haría, through its spokesperson and leader, Chaxiraxi Niz, wants to especially thank the "mediation management" of the president of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, for "facilitating" that the message and requests of the residents of Haría reach the Autonomous Executive through the municipal representatives. In fact, Niz ended by adding that "that's what we have been elected for. To try to carry out proposals that improve the lives of our residents," they conclude.
