The Haría City Council joins the Dinamiza Rural program, promoted by the Government of the Canary Islands, to strengthen the sustainable development of the archipelago's rural municipalities

The signing of the agreement, held at the Casa del Vino de Tenerife, was attended by the president of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo Batlle; the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food Sovereignty, Narvay Quintero, and the mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba, among other representatives from the island municipalities.

“This agreement represents an unbeatable opportunity to enhance the value of our primary sector and guarantee a prosperous future for our young people,” highlighted Alfredo Villalba. In this regard, he emphasized the need to “commit the municipal gastronomic offer to the consumption of local products.”

The agreement seeks to boost the local economy, strengthen the primary sector, and promote innovation, generational renewal, and the consumption of local products in municipalities with fewer than 10,000 inhabitants.

Dinamiza Rural has already promoted 123 projects in 46 municipalities, including fairs, specialized training, and awareness campaigns, with the aim of revitalizing rural areas and generating quality employment.

This initiative is a key step to create opportunities in rural areas, reinforce local identity and move towards a model of sustainable and cohesive development.
