The Haría City Council has approved the extension of the budget item allocated to university scholarships within the municipal budget for this year, which goes from 50,000 to 80,000 euros. This increase aims to update payments, cover one hundred percent of applications and continue to support families and students in the municipality.
The mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba, pointed out that "with this increase, pending scholarships can be updated and their total coverage guaranteed during the 25/26 school year."
"This is a direct and determined commitment to education as an engine of the future for the municipality of Haría, as well as support for families facing university costs," concluded the mayor.
For her part, the Councilor for Education, Evelia García, highlighted that "this budget expansion reflects the real responsibility with equal opportunities for young people in Haría." "From the Consistory we will continue working to ensure that education remains a priority in municipal policies," added the councilor.
This decision is part of the "commitment of the government group to education, in a context of economic stability for the Consistory, which this year has approved a total budget of 12.4 million euros, two million more than the previous year", they conclude from the Consistory.
