The Haría City Council requests the Cabildo of Lanzarote for the immediate restoration of the wind toy, located in the roundabout at the entrance to the town of Arrieta, one of the sculptural figures that the renowned César Manrique bequeathed to Lanzarote and that constitutes a cultural and tourist reference of the municipality.

The mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba, states that "the wind toys are part of the cultural legacy that César Manrique left us, and their presence in Arrieta symbolizes the beauty of the municipality and respect for our artistic history."

"We request that its restoration be carried out immediately, using appropriate materials that guarantee its conservation and enjoyment by residents and visitors," the mayor asserts.

For his part, the Councilor for the Technical Office, José Torres Stinga, points out that "it is essential that interventions on these sculptures be carried out with the utmost professionalism."

"The recent damage, despite the absence of extreme weather conditions, highlights the need to reinforce the maintenance and protection criteria of our heritage figures," concludes the councilor.

This sculpture, which had to be temporarily removed in February to undergo a restoration process carried out by the Cabildo of Lanzarote, returned to its original location in July and in September it was already 100% operational.

However, weeks later, the work has suffered damage again, appearing with a deviation that affects its correct disposition and without the necessary balance that characterizes this type of figure.
