The Teguise City Council and the public company Gesplan are moving forward in the preparation of the Municipal Provisional Ordinance (MPO) on the alignments and slopes of the Caleta de Famara and Caleta de Sebo (La Graciosa) centers, a project whose budget amounts to 74,856.83 euros.

To this end, the Gesplan technical team, in coordination with the City Council and its delegate councilor, Alicia Páez, recently carried out the phase corresponding to the previous studies, information, diagnosis and field work of the project, through a drone flight team over both centers.

The objective of the MPO is the modification and adjustments of the alignments and slopes adjusted to the current reality, which will allow the urban, economic and social development of the island of La Graciosa and the north of Lanzarote. The ordinances constitute a regulatory framework of municipal scope to establish the substantive and procedural regulation of the projects and works, for the execution, conservation and renovation of the building and urbanizing processes. In addition, the building acts must be compatible with the urban planning instrument.

It should be remembered that the processing of the Natural Resources Management Plan (NRP) of the Natural Park is in the draft phase, which, once approved, will speed up the development of the future Rector Plan for Use and Management (RPUM), which will allow the establishment of detailed urban planning regulations and determinations.

Given this unforeseen situation, and which is subject to procedures and procedures to develop the NRP and RPUM of the Natural Park delayed in time, it is necessary to process a municipal provisional ordinance that has legal fit in article 154 of Law 4/2017, of July 13, on Land and Protected Natural Spaces of the Canary Islands.

"It is a new step to enable the development of the Teguise centers that need the indication of these regulations as a requirement for the granting of municipal licenses and, therefore, it is essential to allow the urban, economic and social development of the island of La Graciosa and the north of Lanzarote," said the Councilor for Urban Planning and Technical Office, Olivia Duque.
