The Coast Authority has imposed a sanction of 4,220 euros on the Arrecife City Council for occupying land in the public maritime-terrestrial domain without authorization. Specifically, it occupied 422 square meters of land in the Charco de San Ginés without permission, to install the stage and stands during the festivities.
After receiving notification that the file had been initiated, the City Council did not even raise allegations and agreed to pay the fine, admitting that it used that space "without due authorization."
This is stated in a decree signed on October 7 by the Councilor for Festivities, Encarna Páez, in response to the file initiated by the Canary Islands Coast Demarcation, dependent on the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge.
In that decree, the councilor merely points out that there was an "effective use of the maritime-terrestrial public domain" and that there is "adequate and sufficient credit" in the budget to pay the fine, charged to the item of "General Administration. Other various expenses".
Thus, it resolves to "authorize, arrange and recognize the expense in the amount of 4,220 euros", with "the obligation to pay the Tax Agency."
