The Arrecife City Council has announced the closure of some sections in certain time zones during the celebration of the Carnival Parade, which will take place this Monday, February 20 at 6:00 p.m. from the Lanzarote Sports City to the fairgrounds.
In this sense, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., traffic flow will be maintained on two main access routes.
The first, through Manolo Millares and Guenia streets, which will largely support the traffic diversion; and another along Fred Olsen Avenue, which will support emergency vehicles, public transport, taxis and vehicles with reduced mobility.
In this case, in addition to the cuts already indicated, traffic coming from the LZ-2 highway towards Arrecife will be diverted through Manolo Millares Street and Fred Olsen Avenue.
Likewise, traffic coming from the LZ-20 road through Dr. Juan Negrín Street will be diverted towards Hernández Pacheco Avenue and Félix “El Zapatero” Street; and traffic coming from León y Castillo –direction Arrecife– towards Rambla Medular in the direction of Puerto de Naos.
Also, traffic will be cut off on Rambla Medular, from the Garavilla roundabout to the fairgrounds, and temporary bus stops will be set up, enabling a parking lot at the Los Alonso stop and another at the Secundino Delgado roundabout in the direction of Arrecife.

On the other hand, due to the masquerade ball –which will be enlivened by the Mambo Latino Orchestras, Iván Cacú and his Orchestra and Dj Ángel Pérez– which will take place from 9:00 p.m. on Monday, February 20, after the celebration of the Carnival Parade, the Avenida Marítima will be closed to traffic, at the points between the Yacht Club and the Gran Hotel roundabout from two hours before the event until 05:00 hours.
In this way, in order to proceed with the correct ordering of road traffic, it will be diverted from Avenida Mancomunidad towards Coronel Bens Street; and from Avenida Fred Olsen towards Canalejas Street. Likewise, all the alleys that converge on the affected roads will be closed.
Also, it is reported that the taxi rank located on Avenida Mancomunidad will be temporarily relocated to the bus stop located at the Gran Hotel roundabout.
In addition to the cuts already indicated, traffic coming from Avenida Coll will be diverted towards Manuel Miranda Street and a closure will be carried out at the height of Calle Real.
Traffic coming from Avenida Fred Olsen will also be diverted towards Canalejas Street, and the incorporation to Avenida Mancomunidad from the Gran Hotel roundabout will be closed.
