Fajardo Palarea, second vice-president of the Commission processing the Amnesty Law

The Senate has constituted this Friday the joint Committee of the Constitutional and Justice Committees created in order to process the Amnesty Law Proposal.

The Committee met this morning for the first time to designate its Bureau, with a proposal endorsed by the PSOE and the PP, in which the socialist senator for Lanzarote, Francisco Manuel Fajardo, has been elected second vice president. The senator said he was honored by the trust that his Parliamentary Group has placed in him. The spokesperson for the Socialist Group will be Txema Oleaga.

The Bureau of said Committee will have Pío García-Escudero (PP) as president, María Yolanda Ibarrola de la Fuente (PP) first vice president, Francisco Manuel Fajardo as second vice president. The secretariats will be occupied by José Alberto Armijo (PP) and María de los Ángeles Luna (PSOE)

The only precedent in the Senate in which an initiative has been processed in a joint Committee created ad hoc was the application of article 155 of the Constitution in Catalonia.
