The candidate for mayor for the Platform of the Municipality of Haría (PMH), Evelia García, highlighted this Sunday "the important role that César Manrique has had in making Haría known inside and outside our borders."
"Haría owes a lot to this artist from Lanzarote", and therefore, "whether we govern or not next May 28, we are going to promote the launch of a Manrique route that starts from the Haría Viewpoint and runs through all the places linked to his figure and his work, such as his House Museum, the Mirador del Río, Los Jameos del Agua, or the Wind Toy, among others."
"We will also promote tourism in Máguez, publicizing its only religious work, which is located in the hermitage. It is a mural seven meters long and four meters high made with packed stone from the Guatiza quarry," García explained.
"This is César Manrique's only religious work and it is a shame that it is largely unknown to both the people of Haría and the tourists who visit us," said the candidate for mayor of Haría for the Platform of the Municipality of Haría.
"César Manrique knew how to value the natural and heritage beauty that the municipality of Haría treasures, endowing it with an unprecedented artistic dimension." In addition, "his relationship with Haría was very special", and, for this reason, "Haría will continue to be the faithful guardian of his legacy and memory with, among other measures, the promotion of tourism around his figure and his work in the municipality", concluded Evelia García.
