The current mayor of Haría, Evelia García, has been unanimously ratified this Wednesday by the members of the Platform of the Municipality of Haría (PMH) to head the list with which the formation will compete in the next municipal elections on May 28.
In this sense, Garcia has thanked her colleagues "for the support and trust given", and has assured that "she will continue to give her all to defend the interests of the residents of Haría".
"In these last eight months it has been possible to give stability to the municipality, and unblock projects that had been in the drawer for years, such as the transfer of the use of the Casa del Cura as the Insular Crafts Center or the restart of the SIVE works, previously recovering the damaged space in the surroundings of the Mirador de Guinate", explained the candidate, who also highlighted "the opening of the Tabayesco road, a neighborhood demand that had become one of the main demands of the Platform of the Municipality of Haria".
"If we have managed to do all this in just over half a year and only with three councilors, imagine what we will be capable of if we achieve the majority support of the citizens of Haría", said Evelia García.
"We have a great team and a great project to modernize the municipality and to improve the well-being of all our neighbors", added the mayor of the PMH.
For his part, the president of the Platform of the Municipality of Haría (PMH), José Torres Stinga, said that "there is no better candidate than Evelia García to continue with the project that the PMH is carrying out in the municipality", and recalled that "she has done a formidable job in recent months in the local institution".
In addition, he stressed that "the Platform of the Municipality of Haría has a magnificent team of people with experience in municipal management, and with young people with enthusiasm, who come to give their best to improve the lives of all the people of Haría".
