Constancy, the mural recently created by Erik Air on the outside of the Tías Sports Hall, commissioned by the City Council as a reflection on sports, movement and emotions with anonymous female faces, has been nominated among the best in the world in May by Street Art Cities.
This prestigious urban art platform, which already recognized Erik Air in 2023 as one of the best muralists, has selected the artistic creation of Tías, inaugurated on May 14, as one of the most outstanding of the month of May worldwide.
According to the description of the mural, this "is a vibrant tribute to the strength, courage and unity of women's sports, painted on the facade of a sports hall in Tías, Lanzarote. The composition, fragmented like a torn poster, captures the athletes in intense and genuine moments: struggle, determination and celebration."
It adds that "each expression and gesture radiates passion, resilience and a contagious energy that turns the wall into a collective roar of empowerment. This mural not only seeks to beautify its surroundings, but also to inspire those who pass by to unleash their own claw—their own indomitable spirit—in life and on the court."
The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, and the Councilor for Sports, Ismael Cruz, congratulate the artist for this new recognition and admit that "it is a pride that a work created in our municipality is among the best in the world."
The mayor adds that this distinction "also reminds us of the importance of continuing to support all the sports clubs and schools in Tías, which every day promote values such as effort, perseverance and teamwork among our children and young people."
