The General Directorate of Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands declares the end this Wednesday of the Territorial Emergency Plan of Civil Protection of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands (PLATECA) due to the impact on basic supplies after the electrical blackout that affected the peninsula this Monday.

This situation caused a massive failure of all essential communication services in the archipelago, so users could not make calls and, in many cases, the Internet did not work.

This deactivation has been carried out after the total resolution of the communication problems with 112, derived from the national incident of April 28, has been technically confirmed. The operation of the system has been normalized after a scheduled intervention at the national level by Telefónica during this morning.

Once the pertinent checks have been carried out, monitoring the network and resolving the specific incidents that have occurred, the Canary Islands Government has decided to deactivate the PLATECA.
