Drago Verdes Canarias, presented this Monday, April 17th its leading candidates for the Cabildo of Lanzarote and the main town councils of the island: Arrecife and Teguise, they report.
The presentation event, held in Charco San Ginés (Arrecife), was attended by Alberto Rodríguez, and the mayor of La Laguna (Tenerife) and Rafael Jiménez, who heads the list to Parliament for Lanzarote.
For her part, the candidate for the presidency of the Cabildo of Lanzarote will be Ester Gómez Brodsky. Since 2019 she has been a councilor in the opposition in the Arrecife town hall, as well as co-spokesperson for Verdes Equo Canarias.
The candidate for mayor of Arrecife will be Gustavo Santana, caregiver for people with disabilities and President of a Speleology Club in Lanzarote that works jointly with the European Space Station and NASA. He takes a step because he is "concerned about the state of the city and its residents," he acknowledges. He adds that "I have seen how my colleagues have been affected by the company's non-payment." Therefore, "I am committed to Dignified Life, dignified spaces and dignified employment and salary."
As for the Teguise City Council, its candidate for mayor will be Elsa Betancort, president of the association for decent housing. Her father worked on numerous occasions with the artist and activist César Manrique.
She confesses that "I have imbibed the love and vision of the dream of the future that César Manrique wanted." In addition, she comes from a family of fighters, since her brother is also president of the association of people with Asperger. She acknowledges that "I am a fighting person, with a vision of the people on the street who know perfectly well what the needs of their municipality are," Betancort asserts.
