The Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism have just published the technical and administrative specifications of the contract ‘New EBAR and pumping pipeline work at Cueva de los Verdes’. They can be consulted on Public Sector Contracting Platform.
The contract aims to replace the current WWTP (Wastewater Treatment Plant) with a more modern, efficient, and larger capacity EBAR (Wastewater Pumping Station) and a pipeline that will channel the flow of raw water to the station located next to Jameos del Agua, from where it will be pumped to the Punta Mujeres sanitation network.
With this change, the environmental management of the center is improved as the current treatment plant is eliminated and the resources needed for equipment maintenance are simplified. “It is a work that represents a firm, necessary, and decisive step in our strategy linked to environmental sustainability,” stated the counselor of the Entity, Ángel Vázquez.
The estimated value of the contract is 102,536.20 euros, funded by the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN), axis 4: hydraulic infrastructures, included in the Depuration and Reuse Program, within line 2 of Infrastructures. On this point, the vice-president of the Cabildo de Lanzarote and counselor of Planning and Project Coordination, Finance and Contracting, María Jesús Tovar, emphasizes “the special importance of having this management instrument that promotes projects and initiatives that help build the island”.
The execution period for the work will be ten weeks, counted from the signing of the site survey verification report. The work must be carried out between the months of September and December, outside the breeding or nesting season of the avifauna present in the area.
Applications can be submitted until 10:59 PM on September 8.
