The San Bartolomé City Council informs the residents of the municipality of the start of the reconditioning and resurfacing works of the streets San Borondón (sections from Princesa Ico street to Guardilama street and from Botavara street to Mástil street) and Princesa Ico (from Chimidas Street to Avenida de las Playas), in Playa Honda. These works have the main objective of "improving pedestrian accessibility" in the surroundings of the town.
Along with these, work has also begun on the 'De Molina a Molina' project, in San Bartolomé, for the recovery of José María Gil and Rubicón streets. A project financed with FEDER funds, within the framework of the Sustainable Urban Development Strategy 'Conurban Azul', which will allow obtaining a new area for recreation and rest, with furniture and vegetation according to the aesthetics of the old town of San Bartolomé.
The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, has pointed out that the works in Playa Honda "will make the municipality a more friendly and accessible place for citizens, which means maintaining the commitment to a plan that began a few legislatures ago thinking about the well-being of the residents."
Regarding the works of the 'de Molina a Molina' project, Pérez has stated that this is done "in a way that we can recover emblematic spaces of San Bartolomé, giving priority value to the heritage of the municipality."
For his part, the Councilor for Public Works, Raúl de León, has pointed out that "from the City Council we are aware that, however necessary these interventions may be, there will be inconveniences in the area." Therefore, he pointed out, "we extend our apologies to the citizens for any possible inconveniences that may arise, thanking them for their patience during the course of the work and we are at their disposal to try to minimize the impact."
The works in Playa Honda were awarded to the company Señalizaciones Villar, with an execution budget of €1,354,779.40 and will have an execution period of 7 months. While the works of the 'De Molina a Molina' project, in San Bartolomé, are awarded to the company Transportes y Excavaciones Tiagua, S.L., with an execution period of 4 months, and an execution budget of €495,348.10, financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
