The Cabildo of Lanzarote is in the process of transforming the La Santa hostel after its closure as a Center for Migrant Minors. Thus, a comprehensive reform plan has begun to return the use of the hostel to its original purpose as a space for leisure and coexistence for the youth of Lanzarote and La Graciosa.
Thus, the Cabildo has already launched a recovery and revitalization plan for the space by the Youth and Internal Regime Areas of the island's Cabildo, led by Aroa Revelo and Miguel Ángel Jiménez, respectively.
In this way, the first measure taken has been the integral cleaning of the space, as a preliminary step to the total reform project, which will include an update of the internal regime.
The Councilor for Youth, Aroa Revelo, has expressed her intention to "make the hostel available to the youth of Lanzarote, as well as the people of Tinajo." Revelo also thanked the collaboration of the Councilor for Internal Regime, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, "for his quick action and management to hire a cleaning and maintenance company for the space."
The beginning of these works represents a significant step in the preparation of the La Santa hostel for its new function, which will be oriented towards youth and residential activities, thus fulfilling its original objective.
