Compromiso por Haría has accused the mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba (PSOE), of generating a conflict situation with municipal workers.

The municipalist party has highlighted the exponential increase in sick leave which they claim is associated with "episodes of stress" and "a work environment that they describe as suffocating and that flagrantly harms municipal services".

“Alfredo Villalba has ended up generating a serious problem with the municipal staff. Both the workers' representatives and the workers themselves confirm a significant setback in their rights and in the work environment. One cannot work under despotic and disrespectful leadership,” stated Ambrosio Viñoly, councilor for Compromiso por Haría.

They denounce the lack of a workplace harassment protocol

Compromiso por Haría has warned of the non-existence of a labor protocol, as denounced by unions such as CSIF, and highlights the vulnerable situation of municipal workers.

“We don't know where the 'socialist and worker' slogans of Alfredo Villalba's PSOE are when he exercises tyrannical behavior with a good part of the staff. It is very worrying that Haría is one of the few Town Halls in Lanzarote without a workplace harassment protocol,” Viñoly continued.

In this regard, the Haría organization has informed that they will present a motion in the next municipal Plenary session with the aim of updating protocols against harassment and against workplace discrimination.

Municipal services at risk

Compromiso por Haría has emphasized that the problem generated by Alfredo Villlalba against municipal workers is "having very significant consequences for the people of Haría in key municipal services such as the Local Police".

“They are compromising the safety of the municipality due to their lack of respect for workers' rights. In addition to that, the lack of foresight and planned work in human resources is turning Haría into a municipality with difficulties in minimally providing some services,” concluded the councilors of Compromiso x Haría.
