The electoral headquarters of Coalición Canaria in Playa Blanca hosted on the night of Friday, April 14, the presentation of the electoral list that will accompany Emilio Machín on his way to the Mayor's Office of Yaiza. An event that was attended by the island secretary of the nationalist formation and candidate for Parliament for the Lanzarote constituency, Migdalia Machín, and the candidate for the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, in addition to the rest of the municipal candidates, different public and organic positions of Coalición Canaria, affiliates and supporters.
Visibly excited, Emilio Machín dedicated his first words to his family and explained the reasons that have led him to present his candidacy after a stage in which the government of Yaiza has lost the main thing: respect for its neighbors.
And, as the nationalist candidate has stated in his speech, "our neighbors want to be heard, that is something that has disappeared in Yaiza and we are going to recover it. It is necessary to listen in order to act.”
For Machín, the major problems of the municipality are focused on housing, mobility, health, education and security. "We must work to give our elders the facilities they deserve, for the mobility of each of our towns; the education of our young people, promoting FP, betting on a School of Languages and the construction of an institute in Playa Blanca; and we are not going to stop until we have health infrastructures according to our population growth, with pediatric and emergency consultations in conditions," said the candidate who assured that, together with his team, he will work to "ensure that our children, our families and everyone who wants to reside in our municipality has decent housing.”
"For this - he assured - it is essential that residential homes are manufactured and that is why we need Oswaldo, when he is president of the Cabildo, to work on the Island Plan. We, for our part, will do the same with the General to facilitate these residential areas.”
For her part, Migdalia Machín has valued the figure of Emilio Machín, praising "his closeness, commitment to his people and his desire to work; and he highlighted that Coalición Canaria is a party that is presented to govern because only from the government can decisions be made that will make our municipalities and our island much better than they are.”
The also island secretary of CC, took advantage of her speech to highlight the importance of tourism in Yaiza in general and in Playa Blanca in particular, and point out that, for the nationalists, "the demographic challenge is an issue of such depth that it is not resolved in a politicized parliamentary commission. It is resolved from the government, and for that, with Fernando Clavijo, we are going to create a Ministry of Demographic Challenge, with working tables with universities, sectors, social agents, etc, because it is not about saying that Lanzarote is touristically saturated and that we do not have infrastructures to cover the demand. It is about working hard to prevent that from happening.”
The candidate for the Cabildo, Oswaldo Betancort, also took the stage, who made it clear that "Emilio Machín is coming to change a municipality and start transforming Yaiza from the coast to the interior, generating economy from the port with cruises, betting on our primary sector and our winemakers, and improve so many services that have become obsolete for young and old.”
Likewise, he emphasized that "Emilio and his team will have the Cabildo to invest in infrastructure, mobility and recover the pride and the ability to claim what Yaiza deserves and not fall back into the submission of a mayor who does not fight for his people.”
