The Executive Committee and the Insular Political Council of Coalición Canaria (CC) Lanzarote and La Graciosa approved this past Monday the calendar that will mark the election process for the candidacies with which the nationalist political party will compete in the upcoming local and regional elections of May 2027.
Between September 1 and November 30, the people who will lead the lists for the seven town councils must be designated, while January 31 will be the deadline to know the names of those who will lead the lists for the Cabildo and the Parliament of the Canary Islands.
The insular secretary, Pedro San Ginés, highlighted that CC Lanzarote and La Graciosa "faces this electoral cycle as a united party with very good expectations and a solid, open, and participatory project, designed to continue shaping the islands we want for the future together with the citizens".
San Ginés stressed that the Canarian nationalist party "will continue to maintain permanent contact with society through the series of meetings that have been taking place with representatives from different areas" because "we want to continue shaping our program through participation, listening, and sharing proposals with the citizens".
As an example, he cited the visit that the deputy of Coalición Canaria in the Congress of Deputies, Cristina Valido, is scheduled to make to Lanzarote on September 17 to hold a meeting with representatives of social organizations and entities linked to dependency, the so-called third sector.

During the session, it was reported that the National Political Council of Coalición Canaria will be held on October 3, where the candidate for the Presidency of the Government of the Canary Islands will be officially designated. In this regard, Pedro San Ginés highlighted that the representatives of Lanzarote and La Graciosa in said body have already signed their endorsement of Fernando Clavijo's candidacy.
It was also approved to designate Toni Callero as electoral program coordinator and Orlando Umpiérrez as campaign coordinator. Both will coordinate the work with their counterparts who must designate the seven local committees during the first fortnight of September to advance in the elaboration of the program and in the organization of the electoral process, explained the insular secretary.
Likewise, it was agreed that a delegation made up of representatives from all municipalities will participate on October 24 in the commemorative events of the 50th anniversary of Asamblea Majorera, a historic party with which Coalición Canaria maintains close ties within Canarian nationalism “and which constitutes a benchmark in the nationalist eastern axis of the Archipelago,” stressed Pedro San Ginés.
