Comisiones Obreras (CCOO) asked the Lanzarote Health Area, which depends on the Canarian Health Service, on August 26 to modify the bases of the call for the position of school nurse in the municipality of Tinajo.
The general secretary of Comisiones Obreras in Lanzarote, Nicolás Cabrera, responded to the call published a few days before for the assignment of a nursing position for the schools of Tinajo. The union pointed out that the call only had one requirement, to have a Master's Degree in School Health, but without expressing official specialties recognized by the Ministry.
In this sense, he indicated that "this omission negatively affects the principles of access to public employment and implies an underutilization of human resources specialized in the health field".
The call excluded the specialties of Pediatric Nursing and Family and Community Nursing, so Comisiones Obreras highlighted that "the principles of merit, capacity and equality" are violated, as well as that it "undervalues health training" and that it implies an "inefficiency in the management of public resources".
At the same time, he indicated that only five days were given to be able to present the candidacy to the call.
