The Coalición Canaria (CC) Group in the Yaiza City Council, through its spokesperson, Emilio Machín, will bring three motions to the municipal plenary session to be held this Thursday, October 10, focused on improving citizen security, attention to families, and the conservation of basic infrastructure.

The "most urgent" proposal, according to Machín, is the immediate call for vacant positions in the Local Police, already created and budgeted for in the municipal budget for 2025. "Playa Blanca is experiencing a situation of insecurity that can no longer be ignored. It makes no sense that there are ten agent positions, one sub-inspector position, and seven officer positions with approved funding that remain uncalled. The public is demanding a police presence, and the City Council has an obligation to respond," emphasizes the nationalist spokesperson.

Machín adds that the lack of personnel "endangers the coexistence, tranquility, and confidence of residents and visitors" and demands that security "be a real priority in the upcoming budget years."

The second motion registered by CC demands that "the City Council immediately cede a municipal plot for the construction of a school cafeteria at CEIP Uga, preventing families from depending on external or private solutions." "It is unacceptable to suggest that the kids of Uga can eat in a private nursery while their school is still without a cafeteria," Machín criticizes. "The City Council's priority must be to facilitate family and work balance, ensuring that students have the same services as the rest of the municipality's centers," he adds.

Coalición Canaria also proposes that families and the educational community be heard in defining the project, ensuring that decisions are made "from the bottom up and not from offices."

The third motion proposes the urgent repair of rural roads and access points to Papagayo, which are in a "state of disrepair and affect both residents, the primary sector, and tourism." CC denounces that the procedure for the Cabildo of Lanzarote to assume its maintenance "is blocked by the mayor's lack of response." "You can't keep blaming the Cabildo while the City Council doesn't send the documentation that has been requested for more than a year," Machín warns.

The CC spokesperson concluded by stating that the three proposals "respond to the true needs of the municipality: security, decent public services, and maintenance of the rural territory," and trusts that the government group will "abandon its passivity and act responsibly towards the residents of Yaiza."
