The spokesperson for the Canarian Coalition in the Tías City Council, Amado Vizcaíno, has denounced the state of deterioration and abandonment in which the paddle tennis and tennis courts located on Los Roferos street with Togio are found, in the center of the tourist town of Puerto del Carmen.

Faced with this situation, Vizcaíno demands from the government group "an urgent action to repair the facilities and reinforce the security fence to prevent vandalism, such as the recent destruction of one of the paddle tennis court windows."

“It is unacceptable that with the need for leisure spaces in the municipality, these facilities remain in such a deplorable state,” Vizcaíno emphasizes. “Puerto del Carmen is one of the most visited areas of Lanzarote, and this type of abandonment not only affects the image of the municipality, but also puts the safety of people at risk, both residents and tourists, who come to enjoy these facilities,” adds the councilor.

"And you only have to go to the area to appreciate the state of the courts, where the sports equipment is deteriorated and the lack of maintenance is evident," he points out.

The spokesperson insists that immediate measures be taken to restore and protect these sports facilities and assures that, “from the Canarian Coalition, we will continue to monitor so that the leisure spaces in Tías receive the attention they deserve.”

The Canarian Coalition in Tías reiterates "the need for an adequate security fence and periodic maintenance that guarantees that these spaces are in optimal conditions, both for the enjoyment of residents and tourists who visit the area."
