The Local Committee of Coalición Canaria in San Bartolomé, through its local secretary, Corín Machín, denounces the worrying situation of abandonment that numerous streets in the municipality present, despite the repeated announcements and "supposed" paving plans by the municipal government group.

From CC San Bartolomé it is highlighted that, far from improving, the condition of the pavement in the different districts of the municipality has progressively worsened, evidencing a clear lack of planning, monitoring, and effectiveness in the actions carried out.

Localities such as Güime, Montaña Blanca or Playa Honda, among others, continue to present very deteriorated paving, with cracks, potholes, poorly executed patches and sidewalks in poor condition, which hinders both vehicle circulation and the safe passage of pedestrians. Added to this is the situation of settlements such as El Islote, whose residents have long been demanding greater attention to their needs, denouncing the abandonment of rural areas compared to other areas of the municipality.

"What we are seeing is not the result of chance, but of the neglect and lack of management of the mayor and his team. Paving plans are announced that later do not translate into real solutions for residents," states Corín Machín.

The nationalist formation emphasizes that these are not isolated cases, but a generalized problem that affects main and secondary streets in several towns of the municipality. Residents warn of the damage that this situation is causing to their vehicles, as well as the increase in the risk of accidents.

“The paving of the streets is not a luxury, it is a basic service. One cannot govern based on patches nor on punctual actions without continuity. San Bartolomé deserves serious management, with planning and commitment”, adds Machín.

Likewise, Coalición Canaria warns that the poor condition of the road surface not only compromises road safety, but also projects an image of abandonment that directly harms the quality of life of the residents and the image of the municipality.

“It is inadmissible that, after so many announcements, the streets remain the same or worse. The residents are tired of unfulfilled promises. Less propaganda and more real work is needed,” concludes the local secretary.

Faced with this situation, CC San Bartolomé demands that the City Council urgently implement a comprehensive resurfacing plan that prioritizes the most affected areas and guarantees continuous maintenance of public roads, with rigorous planning and effective monitoring that avoids temporary solutions that do not solve the underlying problem
